Cybersecurity Protection
Cybersecurity assessments, SOC 2 readiness, MFA, secure email, backup planning, and practical access controls for homes and businesses.
Our team of professionals delivers this service with enterprise-grade standards for businesses and individuals across South Florida.
SOC 2 readiness for your companyCyberattacks no longer target only large corporations — small and mid-sized businesses are now the most common victims of ransomware, phishing, and data breaches, precisely because attackers assume they are undefended. Skyce iT builds layered security programs that close the gaps most businesses don't even know exist.
We implement zero-trust network access, advanced endpoint detection and response (EDR), email filtering, and monitoring and alerting options for active managed-service clients under an agreed plan. Beyond technology, we train your staff to recognize social engineering attempts, since human error remains the leading cause of breaches.
When incidents happen, our response team acts immediately to isolate affected systems, eradicate the threat, and restore operations from clean backups — minimizing downtime and financial loss.
What You Get
- Advanced endpoint detectionEDR software actively hunts for suspicious behavior on every device, stopping threats before they spread.
- Zero-trust access controlNo user or device is trusted by default — every access request is verified, drastically reducing lateral attack movement.
- Ransomware protectionImmutable, air-gapped backups ensure you can recover data without paying a ransom.
- Employee security trainingRegular phishing simulations and training sessions turn your staff into your first line of defense.
- Monitoring and alerting optionsFor active managed-service clients, monitoring scope and response expectations are defined in the service agreement.
- SOC 2 readiness preparationWe assess agreed controls against relevant SOC 2 Trust Services Criteria, document gaps, implement technical controls, and organize evidence for an independent CPA audit. We do not issue the SOC 2 report.
- Incident response readinessA tested response plan means faster containment and recovery if a breach does occur.
How It Works
- 1Security auditWe identify vulnerabilities across your network, endpoints, and cloud accounts.
- 2Strategy designWe build a custom security posture plan prioritized by risk severity.
- 3ImplementationWe deploy firewalls, EDR, email filtering, and access policies.
- 4Monitoring planFor active managed-service clients, monitoring scope and response expectations are defined in the service agreement.
SOC 2 readiness for your company
Skyce iT helps companies prepare their systems, procedures, and supporting records for a SOC 2 examination. We agree the scope first, then turn identified gaps into practical tasks with clear owners and priorities.
How we prepare your company
Agree the scope and criteria
Identify the service, systems, data, suppliers, and customer commitments to cover. Map controls to the relevant AICPA Trust Services Criteria. Security common criteria form the baseline. Availability, Confidentiality, Processing Integrity, and Privacy depend on the agreed scope.
Assess gaps and prioritize work
Review existing settings, policies, and records against that scope. Document missing or incomplete controls, identify dependencies, and prepare a remediation plan with responsible people, priorities, and evidence needed to demonstrate completion.
Implement technical controls
Configure agreed measures such as MFA, least-privilege access, employee offboarding, device protection, backup and recovery checks, and security logging. Test the changes and record the configuration, limitations, and operational owner of each control.
Document policies and daily processes
Help prepare company-specific access, change-management, incident-response, and supplier-review procedures. Work with management and relevant teams so approved policies describe how the business actually operates and staff understand their responsibilities.
Collect evidence of actual operation
Organize dated access reviews, approvals, backup checks, training records, and other agreed evidence. Check that recurring activities are performed and documented, track exceptions, and help teams address gaps rather than relying on screenshots alone.
Review readiness and support the handoff
Review the control register and evidence with your team, highlight unresolved items, and prepare an organized handoff. During the independent examination, help explain the agreed technical work and respond to auditor requests within the engagement scope.
What your team receives
- An agreed scope and inventory of relevant systems and services.
- A control mapping and prioritized gap-remediation plan.
- Documented technical settings and the results of agreed checks.
- Draft policies and procedures for management review and approval.
- An organized evidence register with owners and review schedules.
- A readiness summary, open-item list, and auditor handoff materials.
Preparing for SOC 2 Type I
Type I addresses the system description and suitability of control design as of a specified date. Preparation focuses on implemented controls, accurate documentation, and evidence of the setup at that date. It does not establish operating effectiveness over a period.
Preparing for SOC 2 Type II
Type II also evaluates how effectively controls operated throughout a specified period. We help establish repeatable activities and retain evidence across the period agreed with the independent CPA firm. One configuration review cannot replace this operating history.
Shared responsibilities and engagement scope
Management approves policies, accepts risks, and remains responsible for the system and its controls. HR, suppliers, and operational teams contribute their records and activities. Skyce iT handles the agreed readiness work. Software licenses, specialist testing, and the independent CPA engagement are scoped separately.
A licensed, independent CPA firm performs the SOC 2 examination and issues the report. Readiness assistance helps prepare your company. The auditor determines the findings and opinion, and an outcome cannot be guaranteed.
